2024 QTEL Summer Institutes FAQs

What’s included in the registration fee?
Your registration fee covers initial registration, designated materials, and breakfast and lunch as specified in the event agenda. It’s a comprehensive package to ensure you get the most out of your participation for the entire week.
What does the registration NOT cover?
Your registration does not cover your travel to and from the institute location, lodging, and/or any other expenses required to attend the institute outside of the regular five-day institute hours of learning, 8am to 3:30 pm.
Do I need to book for my own hotel and transportation?
Yes, you will be responsible for your own airfare, lodging, and any transportation you require to and from the airport in addition to any local travel you may desire. WestEd has a discounted room rate with Chaminade. You can use the link on the website to book your rooms. The cut-off date for making room reservations is June 16, 2024.
Can I get a refund if I need to cancel my registration?
Please reference our website and registration form for the complete cancellation and refund policy, but the cancellation policy for Santa Cruz is as follows:

Received on or before: May 20, 2024: 100% of tuition refunded

Received on or before: June 3, 2024: 75% of tuition refunded

Received on or before: July 1, 2024: 50% of tuition refunded
-
After July 1, 2024: We will not be able to refund tuition.
Can I transfer my registration to someone else?
Yes, you can transfer your registration to another person. Please contact qtel@wested.org for assistance with the transfer process. Keep in mind that transfer requests must be submitted by July 1, 2024.
Is there a deadline for registration?
The dates on the cancellation policy also applies to late registrations.
How can I request special accommodations for the event?
If you require special accommodations, please indicate them in the registration form.
The registration for the Summer Institute I wanted to attend is closed. Can I attend others?
Yes, you can attend other Summer Institutes if spots are still available (Note: some courses require a pre-requisite). Please check the website for other course offerings.
Do you offer CEUs? If so, where can I register?
We will be offering 3 CEUs through the CSUMB College of Extended Education. One (1.0) CEU is earned for 10 clock hours spent in a planned, structured learning experience or activity.
The cost is $70 per unit = $210.
