LEADERSHIP IN ENGLISH LEARNER EDUCATION

Audience: Site and District leaders who want to learn about what quality instruction for English Learners is, how to look for it in practice, and support other educators to engage in an ongoing process of learning to enhance existing systems and practices in support of deep, generative learning for all.

Goal:

To develop the capacity of site and district leaders to:

• understand the complex context in which education takes place.

• confidently monitor and support systemic implementation of rigorous, learning environments for English Learners.

• understand the role of cultures and climates to promote learner participation and support.

​

You will learn to:

• Develop an understanding of the role that leadership plays in ensuring all educators support quality education for all students, especially English Learners

• Learn how to support teachers so they can design and enact high-challenge, high-support instructional opportunities

• Learn to become analytical, agentive, and reflective educators with ambitious goals for the development of English Learners and all other students
