WestEd science education experts will present at the 2025 National Conference on Science Education at the Philadelphia Convention Center, Pennsylvania, March 26–29, 2025.

This conference gathers teachers, professors, administrators, and curriculum specialists to learn about innovative instructional strategies and techniques that engage and inspire students in science.

Join Tanya Warren and Nico Janik in their session titled “Collaborating with Engineering and Multilingual Learners in Mind,” where they will share how they co-developed engaging engineering activities tailored for multilingual students. Learn how an engineering educator and a multilingual learning specialist teamed up to adapt and design activities that enhance sensemaking in engineering education.

In this interactive session, participants will explore practical ways to adapt NGSS materials or create their own for deeper multilingual learner engagement. Engage in a hands-on engineering activity, discover strategies beyond the framework, and collaborate with peers to enhance lesson planning and language support.

Join Tanya and Nico to transform engineering learning into an inclusive and language-rich experience!

Don’t miss their session on March 29 at 11:40 a.m. in Room 110B.
